As the new year dawns I have been thinking about what can be done to the FLW to make it better. In discussions with promoters over the last several months one of the topics discussed was how promoters can have access to more talent than they can under the current bylaws. One of the discussions I had was about changing the roster cap limit. The suggestion that was made was that we lower the limit to 12. Each fed would then have a core roster of those 12 and be able to supplement using as many free agents as they felt were necessary. Free agents would be able to be booked on the FA thread the same way they always have. I was intrigued by this idea and thought we could discuss it as a group. The thought is that by having fewer wrestlers dedicated to one roster, it would make more talent available to other territories without keeping the other promoters from using the same talent. Feel free to post your thoughts below.

I really like the idea, it creates a lot of creative booking on the promoters part and perhaps will bring new promoters into the fold since a lot of talent from every established promotion would be available.....I say YES to the new roster limit

If we implement this change, it would come before the draft so any released talent would be available to draft.

I originally approached MK about this. I mentioned the roster cap be set at 12 as I think that will spread the more sought after talent across the free agent pool. I think any higher than that would defeat the purpose of what I originally had in mind. This is not a dig at you Keith but I am also in favor of limiting each promoter to a maximum of 2 feds as I see any more than 2 feds per promoter gives that promoter an unfair advantage. I would suggest implementing this if approved on Feb 15th. That gives each promoter 6 weeks to decide on a core roster and finish up any existing angles that involve wrestlers you plan on releasing to free agency. As always, non-wrestling personnel and a ladies division does not factor in the roster cap.
I am open for discussion but I strongly feel this is needed.

I think it works best for me if I implemented these changes right now..I have basically reset my rosters across all 4 feds..So I will be the first to implement these changes..I have no problem going back to two feds at all..My question is this..I would like to keep my JAPW roster but run it under the MLW banner..I would keep Maximum Pro Wrestling and Major League Wrestling.

Would 18 be a better fit for a roster cap instead of 12? I am not opposed to increasing the roster cap number to 16 or 18.

I think 16 would be better.

Sounds like everyone is on board with this. I think we will set the cap at 16 as that seems amicable. I will adjust the bylaws now, but the change won't be official until 2/15.

I was wondering if we wanted to switch back to the snake draft or keep it at a auction draft. With only 8 territories a snake draft would be simple.
